AFL chief calls for end to cat calls for Adam Goodes

GILLON McLachlan has joined the chorus of those calling for the booing of Sydney Swans star Adam Goodes to stop.

McLachlan joined Nisbett in condemning the booing, saying: "It's been going on at an unprecedented level for many months - it's ugly and it's having an impact."

Meanwhile, scans have confirmed Gold Coast captain Gary Ablett will miss the rest of the season after tearing the medial ligament in his left knee against the Crows in Adelaide.

The match was just the sixth for the dual Brownlow medallist this season. He re-injured his shoulder in round two and was on the sidelines until round 14.
