Asylum seekers settled in $55m deal have left Cambodia

THE first handful of refugees settled in Cambodia under a $55 million deal with the Australian Government have left the country, the ABC reports.

The four asylum seekers, including three people from Iran and one Rohingya man from Myanmar, are believed to all have returned to their home countries in the past year.

The ABC reported an Iranian married couple went back to Iran in March and one Iranian man had also left in the past few weeks.

The Rohingya man, who belongs to a group of people considered to be among the most persecuted in the world, reportedly returned to Myanmar last year.

The ABC reported only one refugee, also a Rohingya man, remained in Cambodia.
