WITH Mother's Day nearly here, it is a timely reminder some mothers see the day as anything but special.

This year, Kim Taylor has made it her pledge to make Mother's Day special by distributing "blessing bags” to women in the community who wouldn't otherwise receive a gift.

"I hope that these bags can bring some joy to these ladies who are not in the best situations at home,” Mrs Taylor said.

The project is not-for- profit, with each bag costing $25 and Mrs Taylor is asking members of the community to sponsor a bag to reach her goal of 30 bags.

Balonne Kindy ran a fund- raiser in their last week of term one with a superhero and princess dress up day and collected enough money for three more bags, but Mrs Taylor is still looking for donations.

The bags will include a gift voucher to a local coffee shop and some hand care products.

Donations must be in by April 30. If anyone can help, contact Kim on 0428 344 988 or at nathanandkimtaylor@ gmail.com.
