Man seriously injured in crash west of Toowoomba

UPDATE 8.40AM: A man has suffered serious head injuries after a two-vehicle crash north-west of Toowoomba overnight.

Four other people suffered only minor injuries, including a baby and five-year-old girl, after the traffic crash west of Dalby.

Initial investigations suggest just after 8pm a dual cab was travelling east on the Warrego Hwy.

When the driver pulled to the side of the road and attempted to perform a u-turn, a sedan travelling in the same direction collided with the front of the vehicle.

The 29-year-old male driver of the sedan was taken to Dalby Hopsital with serious head injuries.

The 23-year-old female driver of the dual cab, her 30 year-old male passenger, the girl and baby received minor injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

EARLIER 10PM: Emergency services are currently responding to a two-vehicle crash 10 kilometres west of Dalby, on the Warrego Hwy.

Preliminary investigations suggest the head-on collision occurred at approximately 8.07pm.

Emergency services were on the scene by 8.15pm.

Police said a male was trapped in one of the vehicles and released at about 8.40pm, before being treated by paramedics on the scene.

Investigations are continuing, and updates will be provided as further information comes to hand.
