Local pools opening for end of holidays

FAMILIES will be able to take advantage of some much-needed heat relief over the school holidays, when local pools finally open for business.

Final preparations for swimming season began yesterday, with the council working hard to get the pools ready for the spring/summer season.

There are still a few days before the gates swing open; St George pool opens on Tuesday, October 2, and Dirranbandi will open the following week on Monday, October 8.

Both swimming pools will be open for six months over the 2018/19 season, with days varying between venues.

St George will be open seven days a week, while Dirranbandi will operate Friday to Monday, only in the afternoon.

Prices:

Adult: $3

Adult (non-swiming): $1

Child: $1.50

Children under two free.
