Multiple suspicious fires hit Bowen

POLICE are investigating a series of suspicious fires that occurred in Bowen overnight.

About 10.40pm, police were called to a Powell Street address to find one building well alight.

The unoccupied house was completely destroyed as result of the blaze, and a neighbouring property sustained minor damage.

About 11pm, police were called to reports of two vehicles on fire at an accommodation business in Herbert Street.

As a result two mini buses have been extensively damaged, and no one has been injured as a result of the incidents.

A nearby property sustained minor damage.

Police have conducted forensic examinations at the scene of the fires as investigations into the cause of the fires continue.
