LITTLE Athletics members and coaches in St George were treated to a special coaching clinic on Sunday when Little Athliecs Queensland Senior Development Officer Shaun Lethem came to town for their weekly meet to develop proper techniques and skills.

Mr Lethem said that as well as teaching techniques to the coaches, it was a chance for him to inspire the kids to keep enjoying athletics.

"It is great to come out and show the adults that they do know what they are talking about,” he said.

"But as long as the kids are enjoying it, that is the main thing.”

St George and district Little Athletics president Alisha Sampson, said she was grateful to Lethem for coming.

"It is great for Shaun to come, because it confirms to us as parents and coaches what we are doing is correct, and him coming gave us an opportunity to ask a range of questions, so we can better help the kids,” Sampson said.

"And the kids loved it, they are smashing personal bests and having fun.”
