THERESA Visintin hopes to move her family back to Sydney after her MasterChef exit.
The mother-of-three, who currently lives in Vancouver on Canada's west coast, was eliminated from Ten's reality cooking show tonight - just one week after her brother Jimmy Wong.
They were the first brother and sister to make it on to the show in the same year.
"I know Jimmy was hoping for me to stay in a lot longer, but the cook got the better of me," she told APN.
"You can't go back and change it, so there's no point dwelling on it. I'm very grateful and I have no regrets."
Since leaving the show, Visintin has done work experience in Sydney restaurants Nel, Hotel Centennial and at KOI where her brother Jimmy now works with fellow MasterChef graduate Reynold Poernomo.
"My family is still in Vancouver but we're talking about relocating to Sydney," she said.
The 44-year-old hopes to combine her love of food and her newfound skills in the kitchen with her background as an actress.
In the early '90s she appeared in several Aussie soaps including Home and Away, GP and Paradise Beach.
"I haven't worked full-time as an actor since the Aussie soaps, but even while I've been parenting I've been doing a bit here and there on shows like The Flash and Supernatural and some commercials. I still have my foot in the door," she said.
"Food is now my priority for sure. I want to get all these recipes out of my head and on to a media (platform) of some sort, whether it be YouTube or my website. Then whatever comes from that would be great."
She believes Noosa coffee roaster Matt Sinclair as the show's current frontrunner.
"Matt, at this stage, is blowing us away with his confidence," she said.
"He is one of the most confident cooks I have met, which is something that's really inspirational. He knows what he likes to eat and what he wants to cook."
Sinclair is one of four contestants who will compete for one of two immunity pins on the show tomorrow night.
MasterChef airs Sundays through Thursdays at 7.30pm on Channel 10.
