Long delays expected on Warrego Hwy after crash

UPDATE: Motorists were being urged to avoid travelling on the Warrego Hwy west of Toowoomba on Thursday afternoon as the clean-up from an earlier truck rollover gets under way.

Police were at the scene of the crash at Charlton where a truck carting plastic containers rolled about 12.25pm.

The male truck driver has been taken to Oakey Hospital in a stable condition.

Eastbound lanes of the highway remain blocked with police on scene conducting traffic control.

One westbound lane is open but traffic is becoming heavily congested.

Police urged drivers to delay travel or seek an alternative route.

The clean-up and recovery from the incident is expected to take about two hours.


12.40PM: A truck has rolled on the Warrego Hwy west of Toowoomba.

Emergency services are on scene at the incident at Charlton reported to authorities at 12.25pm.

The male truck driver is out of the vehicle and is being assessed by paramedics.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services has secured the area and police are controlling traffic.

The truck was carrying plastic containers.
