POLICE are examining CCTV footage of a break-in at the Rattler Café this week, Rattler Railway Company spokesman Garry Davison says.
"It happened Wednesday about 6pm.
"There wasn't a lot of damage but it's disappointing, when the whole community is behind the project.
"There was some damage to the door and I think that's all.
"I doubt if anything was stolen."
Mr Davison said security video showed three people were involved in the break-in.
"There's been a few break-ins around the community lately," he said.
IN ANOTHER low act in the region the Mary Valley Rattler Cafe was broken into and vandalised on Wednesday night.
Parts of the building are now boarded up after the culprits smashed through two doors and a window between about 6 and 7pm.
A Gympie police spokesman could not provide information on the state of the inside of the cafe or whether anything had been stolen.
The incident is not believed to be linked to the recent break-in of the Queensland Rural Fire Services office in Mary where intruders stole cash, the office safe and a fire fighter face mask from the charity.
Investigations are continuing and police urge anyone with information about the crime to contact the Gympie police station on 5480 1111 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 00.
