UPDATE 2.30PM: THE Forensic Crash Unit is spending today at the scene of a fatal traffic crash that claimed the life of a woman last night.
The 49-year-old Harlaxton woman was killed in a horror collision between a car and a loaded cattle truck on the Warrego Hwy, west of Bowenville about 7pm yesterday.
Jondaryan Police Station officer-in-charge Senior Constable Duncan Miller said investigations were continuing into the cause of the crash which happened near the intersection of Bowenville Norwin Rd and the Warrego Hwy.
"The heavy vehicle was travelling eastbound and the sedan has turned out of the Bowenville Norwin Rd travelling eastbound as well," Snr Const Miller said.
"Then there has been a collision with the two. As a result of that one female occupant of the vehicle died."
Snr Const Miller said some members of the woman's family were yet to be notified.
A report is being prepared for the coroner.
8.10AM: The woman killed in a horror collision between a car and cattle truck on the Warrego Hwy has been identified as a Toowoomba woman.
The woman, 49, from Harlaxton, died at the scene of the crash which occurred about 7pm Monday near the intersection of Bowenville Norwin Rd and the Warrego Hwy west of Bowenville.
She was the sole occupant of the smaller sedan which police suspect turned onto the highway heading east and into the path of the loaded cattle road train.
Paramedics assessed the truck driver at the scene but he did not require transport to hospital.
The Warrego Hwy was closed for more than four hours, re-opening to traffic about midnight.
Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
6AM: A woman has died after a horror collision between a cattle truck and sedan west of Toowoomba.
Police confirmed the woman, the sole occupant of a white sedan, died at the scene of the crash on the Warrego Hwy west of Bowenville.
Initial investigations suggests the sedan had been traveling on Bowenville Norwin Rd when it turned onto the Warrego Hwy and into the path of the cattle truck road train.
The collision closed the highway for several hours for investigations and to relocate the cattle from the scene.
The truck driver was not injured.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
YESTERDAY 9.30PM: A woman is fighting for life after a collision between a cattle truck and car on the Warrego Hwy this evening.
A police spokeswoman said a woman, the sole occupant of the car, suffered serious life-threatening injuries in the crash.
The Warrego Hwy is expected to remain closed for a number of hours as the Forensic Crash Unit investigates the circumstances surrounding the collision near the intersection of the Bowenville-Norwin Rd and the highway about 7.10pm.
Some traffic diversions are in place.
The driver of the truck was not injured, police said.
Initial investigations suggest the road train, loaded with cattle, had been travelling east on the Warrego Hwy when the collision occurred with the car which had turned from Bowenville-Norwin Rd, also heading east.
The truck was left in a paddock about 150m from the intersection.
Police and Forensic Crash Unit investigators are at the scene.

Emergency services remain at the scene of the crash near the intersection of Bowenville-Norwin Rd and the Warrego Hwy, west of Bowenville.
Initial reports suggest one person involved has been critically injured in the crash which occurred about 7.10pm.
The highway has been closed in both directions as authorities attempt to relocate cattle from the road train.
