Disliked Navy man Rob and his wife Rose will come home to their family's renovated Perth house. Preview footage certainly makes it look like they're not completely happy with the result.

Why you should watch: Rose and Rob's unusual house rules will ensure plenty of bright colours and more unusual designs from the teams this week and their sons' pirate and Navy themed bedrooms will inspire some adorable reactions.

The new Top Gear debuts with a fresh group of presenters after the controversial departure of original hosts Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond.

Why you should watch: It will be interesting to see how Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc (yes from Friends fame) and their group of six presenters put their own spin on this much-loved motoring show.

The three best performers in the invention test are joined by the winner of the mystery box challenge in a battle for the chance to cook for not one, but two immunity pins.

Why you should watch: The contestants are asked to make savoury and sweet jaffles - jaffles! Is your mouth watering yet? Their creations are sure to inspire viewers to get the jaffle maker out of the cupboard for a toasty snack.

 

Wednesday June 1: State of Origin game one, 7.30pm on Channel 9/WIN

This is set to be one of the best Origin contests in years with experts tipping the two teams to be quite evenly matched.

Why you should watch: It's the most entertaining rugby league, outside of perhaps the grand final, of the year and should keep even casual fans entertained. Get some friends and family together, rug up in your maroon or blue jersey and make a night of it.

A primarily indigenous cast leads this Australian and New Zealand co-production, also premiering on Sundance TV in the US, set in a dystopian Australian city where a new subspecies of "hairies" have been discovered.

Why you should watch: Aunty's groundbreaking new sci-fi drama is one of the most exciting shows of the year and features TV's first Aboriginal superhero. Cleverman is well-written, well-acted and strikes a chord with our current border protection issues.

 

Friday June 03: The Graham Norton Show, 8.30pm on Channel 10

British talk show host Graham Norton is joined by Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling, who are promoting their new movie The Nice Guys, and Money Monster director Jodie Foster.

Why you should watch: Crowe and Gosling have surprisingly good chemistry in their new buddy cop comedy and should make for a great interview based on the counselling session clips they made to promote the movie.
